Male Tummy Tuck/Adbominoplasty
ROCK HARD AB’S Give us a couple of hours!
For men with excessive skin and fat in their middle section resulting from weight gain or weight loss an abdominoplasty may be your answer. Tummy tucks are designed to remove fat and skin and tighten the muscles of your abdominal wall. For many, exercise and a healthy diet will not be enough. If you have lost significant weight now is the time to consider your procedure. Men who undergo an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck are pleased with their outcome and are usually much more comfortable wearing tight clothing and swimming wear.
Are you a candidate for an Abdominoplasty?
Or will liposuction work for you? Less than 40% of Dr. Dobson's patients actually require a full tummy tuck. The rest of the time, his patients only require modern liposuction with or without a crescent tuck. Please review the before and after photographs of our patients who have received the liposuction with a crescent tuck. (make sure this links to the male photos)

The Tummy Tuck Procedure:
There are three surgical procedures used to flatten a protruding stomach. The best technique for you will depend upon your goals and specific problems. Dr. Dobson will meet with you during your free consultation to assess your personal needs.
-
Tummy tuck/Abdominoplasty is designed to flatten a protruding stomach by removing excess fatty tissue and skin as well as tighten the muscles in the abdominal wall. The tummy tuck requires a long incision, usually from hipbone to hipbone, just above the pubic area. The skin is separated from the abdominal wall all the way up to your ribs to reveal the vertical muscles in your abdomen. These muscles are tightened by pulling them close together and stitching them into their new position. This provides a firmer abdominal wall and narrows your waistline. Extra skin is then removed and brought together and your navel is stitched into its new position. You will have a drain gather excess fluid from the surgical site.
Recovery
After your procedure, you will experience some swelling for several days and you should arrange for someone to assist you with daily activities for a couple of days. The procedure is generally performed in our outpatient surgery center. You will not be able to stand straight immediately, but should begin walking as soon as possible. Most patients return to work in approximately 7-10 days.
This procedure will of course leave a scar on your lower abdomen, but it will fade over time. This scar will be below most waistlines on clothing and bathing suits. Results of the surgery will last many years and will be most effective if you exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet.
